In his spare time, Dave takes a keen interest in Mental Health and disability issues and is patron of two Essex based mental health charities. He is also a Governor of the North Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and a Director and Trustee of Disability Essex. Dave is committed to increasing opportunities for young people and is an Ambassador of the Guiding Association.

 

Ever enthusiastic to appear on stage, Dave has been both defence and prosecuting counsel in the centuries old Dunmow Flitch Trials held every 4 years. Wig and Gown were a perfect fit.

 

For two years Dave was a columnist for the Essex Life Magazine.

 

In 2008, Dave was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Essex in recognition of his community and charity work.
